Model B and Model D Installation Checklist

Roller guide and rail alignment

1. Roller guide and rail alignment
  • Roller guide must be aligned perpendicular to guide rail
  • Adjust roller guide until the alignment is correct
Model B rail alignment2. Roller wheel positioning
  • Face roller wheel should be centered on face of guide rail
  • Adjust roller guide left or right to center face roller wheel

 

3. Guide base-to-face of guide rail distance
    • Install with correct distance from face of guide rail to the guide base
    • Align center of the front mounting bolt slot the specified distance from face of guide rail

     

    • Model B – 2” from face of guide rail

     

    • Model D – 1” from face of guide rail
        4. Roller wheel preload (25 – 50 lbf)
        • Preload should be between 25 – 50 lbf on the side and face roller wheels
        • It should be possible to skid roller wheels on guide rail by hand with moderate effort
        Side roller wheel preload
        • Adjust preload force on guide rail using the side arm adjustment nut

         

         

        Face roller wheel preload
        • Adjust preload force on guide rail using the face arm adjustment nut
        • Turn side arm or face arm nuts clockwise to increase the force and counterclockwise to reduce it, until the correct force is achieved

         

         

        Model B float5. Elevator float (MODEL B only)
        • Set maximum float
        • Turn square-head set screw to increase or decrease the gap between flat washer and head of square-head set screw
        • Amount of float will be approximately twice the gap measured i.e. 1/16” gap = 1/8” float
        Note:
        • DO NOT lubricate any parts of Model B or Model D roller guide
        • Model D does not have adjustable stops
